- Description
A comment on the article by Bernie Brian. Kitay's view is that Brian exaggerates the role of the dispute historically; while the dispute was important, Mudginberri was hardly the genesis of the anti-union managerial offensive of the 1980s. Kitay also believes that the 'New Right' was not, in the commonly held view, substantially a 'petit bourgeois' phenomenon; links with conservative political parties and large organisations can be traced.
