The Apparel Manufacturers' Association of NSW (Division of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales) was a successor of the Wearing Apparel Sections of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales which was formed and registered as an independent organisation under the federal industrial relations legislation in 1946. By 1951 it was reregistered as the Apparel Manufacturers' Association of NSW (Division of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales). In 1978, the union was, once again, renamed, this time as the Australian Confederation of Apparel Manufacturers - NSW (Division of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales).
