| The Association of Officers of the Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation was formed in 1949 and succeeded a similarly titled Association of Officers of the Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (the CSIR Officers Association). In 1980 the Association reregistered again, this time as the CSIRO Officers' Association. By 1992 this Association had amalgamated with the CSIRO Technical Association to form the CSIRO Staff Association, but was soon after merged into the Public Sector Union. Today this union is known formally as the CPSU, the Community & Public Sector Union. See "online sources" for a pedigree chart of this entity. |
