The Australian Vegetable Growers' Association was formed in 1946 and operated until 1979 when it amalgamated with the Australian Wool and Meat Producers' Federation, the Australian Wheat Growers' Federation, the Australian National Cattlemen's Council, the Cattlemen's Union of Australia, the Australian Seed Producers' Federation, the Australian Woolgrowers' & Graziers' Council, and the Australian Farmers' Federation to form the National Farmers Federation [NFF]. The inaugural meeting of the NFF was held on 20 Jul 1979.
