Registered federally in 1930, the Australian Wheatgrowers' Federation operated until 1979 when it amalgamated with the Australian Vegetable Growers Association, the Australian Wool & Meat Producers' Federation, the Australian National Cattlemen's Council, the Cattlemen's Union of Australia, the Australian Seed Producers' Federation, the Australian Woolgrowers' & Graziers' Council, and the Australian Farmers' Federation to form the National Farmers Federation [NFF]. The inaugural meeting of the NFF was held on 20 Jul 1979.
