| The Australian Woolgrowers' and Graziers' Council [AWGC] was formed in July 1960 following a merger between the Australian Woolgrowers' Council [AWC] and the Graziers' Federal Council of Australia [GFC] which, itself, could be traced to the Pastoralists' Federal Council of Australia of 1891 (the Pastoralists Federal Council became the Graziers' Federal Council in 1919). In 1979 the AWGC merged with the Australian Wool and Meat Producers' Federation [AWMPF], the Australian Wheat Growers' Federation [AWF], the Australian National Cattlemen's Council [ANCC], the Cattlemen's Union of Australia, the Australian Seed Producers' Federation, the Australian Vegetable Growers Association, and the Australian Farmers' Federation to form the National Farmers Federation [NFF]. The inaugural meeting of the NFF was held on 20 Jul 1979. See "online sources" for a pedigree chart of this entity. |
