| What was known in 1974 as CSR Limited was first formed in 1855 as an unlimited company following a reconstruction of the Australasian Sugar Company - the first established in Australia for sugar refining. Incorporated in New South Wales on 1 July 1887 as the Colonial Sugar Refining Company Limited, and registered as an employer body under the federal governments' Arbitration & Conciliation Act in 1927, the company operated until 1974 when it adopted (and reregistered) the new title CSR Limited. A few months later, in December 1974, CSR Limited was deregistered as an employer body. See "online sources" for a pedigree chart of this entity. |
