| Function: Trade Union (Federal) | ||
| Registered in 1925 as the Fourth Division Officers' Association of the Trade & Customs Department of Australia, this union, whose sole purpose was the protection of the rights and conditions of Customs Officers throughout Australia, was originally formed as the General Division Officers' Union of the Trade & Customs Department of Australia in 1915. Although a further reregistration in 1949 demanded a change of name to its current guise, the Customs Officers' Association of Australia, Fourth Division, the Union has retained throughout its history the purpose of protecting its exclusive member base.
