Sugar Works Employees Union of Australia (1911 - 1977)

Function: Trade Union (Federal)
Established just after the turn of the century as the Victorian Sugar Refinery Employees' Union, this union was federally registered in 1911 with the Conciliation and Arbitration Court as the Sugar Works Employees' Union of Australia. The union remained confined to Victoria, but in amicable contact with interstate sugar workers' unions. Its members merged into the Australian Workers' Union after the union was deregistered in 1977.
