Victorian Fibrous Plasterers Union (1936 - 1938) |

| Function: Trade Union (Federal) | |||
| Location: Victoria | |||
| The origins of the Victorian Fibrous Plasterers' and Plaster Workers' Union began as a small union of skilled tradesmen, and apprenticeship tradesmen. It was established in 1908, and called variously the Fibrous Plasterers' Association, the Victorian Fibrous Plasterers’ Union, and, since 1938, the Victorian Fibrous Plasterers' and Plaster Workers' Union. In 1973 the union changed names to the Victorian Plaster Industry Workers’ Union and in 1988 it merged with the Victorian Operative Bricklayers’ Society and the Victorian Plasterers’ Society to form the Victorian State Building Trades Union. It remained the Victorian State Building Trades Union despite a 1991 amalgamation with the Slaters Tilers and Roofing Industry Union of Victoria. See "online sources" for a pedigree chart of this entity. |
