| The Victorian State Building Trades Union was formed in 1988 by an amalgamation of the Victorian Plasterers Society, the Victorian Operative Bricklayers Society and the Victorian Plaster Industry Workers Union. In 1991 it amalgamated with the Slaters Tilers & Roofing Industry Union of Victoria but retained the title Victorian State Building Trades Union.
