|

| Function: Trade Union (Federal) | ||
| Location: Victoria | ||
| Formed in 1988, the Victorian State Building Trades Union was an amalgamation of the Victorian Plasterers' Society, the Victorian Operative Bricklayers' Society and the Victorian Plaster Industry Workers' Union. These unions had operated in various guises from about the mid-nineteenth century (namely the Operative Bricklayers). By 1991 a further amalgamation with the Slaters' Tilers' & Roofing Industry Union of Victoria caused the Union to reregister but it retained the title Victorian State Building Trades Union. See "online sources" for a pedigree chart of this entity. |
