Function: Trade Union (State or Territory only)
In December 1910 a deputation of police employees waited on Frederick Samuel Wallis, Chief Secretary in the recently elected Verran Labor Ministry. The deputation asked to form a committee to draw up a scheme for betterment of the police service. The request was approved and a committee of nine police officers was elected.

The Police Committee, as it was known, held a meeting on the 18th October 1911 which approved the action of forming the Police Association of South Australia [PASA]. On the 7th December 1911 the first general meeting of the Police Association of South Australia was held at the Co-operative Societies Hall in Angas Street, Adelaide. On 9th July 1926 PASA achieved registration with the Industrial Court which afforded the organisation the right to be heard in the official arbitration tribunals.
