Summary

The NSW Plumbers & Gasfitters Employees' Union is a predecessor of the Australian Plumbers & Gasfitters Employees' Union which was formed in 1912 and went on to become the Plumbers & Gasfitters Employees' Union of Australia in 1928. This union operated until 1993 when it merged with the Electrical Trades' Union of Australia to form the Electrical, Electronic, Plumbing & Allied Workers' Union of Australia. By 1994 a further amalgamation, this time with the Communication Workers' Union of Australia, created the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing & Allied Services Union of Australia, otherwise simply known as the CEPU.
