Summary

In 1944 printing trade employees of the "Sun" newspaper in Sydney decided would work no more than 40 hours per week in five shifts Monday to Friday. The proprietors of the newspaper then attempted to publish the paper at the offices of a competitor. The competitors printers refused to carry out the work. The result was the complete stoppage of newspaper production in Sydney's history.
