Summary
Born and raised in Victoria, Collier left school in his teens to work as a goldminer in Victoria and New South Wales. In 1904, he moved to Western Australia to work with the Perseverance Gold Mining Company. He was a member of the Amalgamated Workers' Association and delegate to the Trades and Labor Council in 1905. In 1905 he entered the Legislative Assembly as the member for Boulder. He served as Premier from 1924 to 1930 and again from 1933 to 1936 when he stepped down.
