| The Workers Compensation Act 1958 provides for the establishment of the Workers Compensation Board to act as a tribunal which inquires into, hears and determines all disputes and other matters arising out of claims under the Act. The Board is constituted under section 80 of the Act and comprises five divisions, each of which consists of a judicial member, being a Judge of the County Court, as chairman, with two lay members appointed by the Governor in Council. One lay member is selected from a panel of three nominated by the insurers and the Victorian Employers’ Federation to represent insurers. The other is selected from a panel of three nominated by the Victorian Trades Hall Council to represent workers. |
