Summary
The Association of Professional Engineers, Australia was registered federally on 10 November 1948. The union covers all employed professional engineers or persons who have qualifications which satisfy the Institute of Engineers of Australia. In 1991 the Association amalgamated with the Association of Professional Scientists of Australia to form the Association of Professional Engineers & Scientists, Australia. Three years later, in 1994, the Senior Managers' Association (Postal & Telecommunications Commissions) and the Australian Broadcasting Commission Senior Officers' Association merged also, helping to create the Association of Professional Engineers Scientists & Managers, Australia.
