The Australian Confederation of Apparel Manufacturers - NSW (Division of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales) was registered in 1978 following a change of name from the Apparel Manufacturers Association of NSW (Division of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales). Originally known as the Wearing Apparel Sections of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales which was formed and registered under the federal industrial relations legislation in 1946, the union became known as the Apparel Manufacturers Association of NSW (Division of the Chamber of Manufactures of New South Wales) in 1951.
