The Australian Federated Union of Locomotive Enginemen, Commonwealth Division was registered federally in 1925 to protect the conditions and wages of locomotive enginemen employed by the federal government. In 1970 the union was deregistered, although its members went on to join the ranks of the Australian Federated Union of Locomotive Enginemen.
