Summary
The Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Western Australia was formed on the 1 January 1992 through an amalgamation of Confederation of West Australian Industry and the West Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The Confederation of West Australian Industry was formed in 1975 after the merger of the West Australian Chamber of Manufacturers, which was itself established in 1890, and the West Australian Employers' Federation (1913).
The West Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry was not formed until 1983, when the Federated Chambers of Commerce of Western Australia (established in 1929) and the Perth Chamber of Commerce (established in 1890) merged.
