Summary
In 1917 a conference of delegates from Victorian, South Australian, Tasmanian and West Australian Health Officers' Associations formed a constitution for the establishment of a Federal body. Difficulties were experienced in arranging another conference to discuss registration of the body. Finally at a conference in Sydney on 12 July 1920 representatives of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland resolved that the Health Inspectors' Association of Australia be formed and it was registered under the Commonwealth Court of Arbitration on 20 September 1920. In 1972 the Health Inspectors' Association of Australia was deregistered.
