Summary
The South Australian Employers' Federation was formed in 1889. After numerous efforts at rationalising representative structures for the State's business community late in the next century, the South Australian Employers' Federation merged with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to form the South Australian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. on the 1 November 1993. The repositioning culminated in the launch on 29 May 2000 of Business SA, a new name and a new image for the State's leading business and employer group.
