The Voluntary Care Association of NSW & ACT was a registered industrial organisation of employers who were aged and community care providers in the non-profit, charitable sector. The Voluntary Care Association of NSW & ACT Inc. provided lobbying, industrial, educational and policy services to members.
The Voluntary Care Association of NSW & ACT Inc. began as the Association of Voluntary Geriatric Agencies (NSW). The foundation members were the Anglican Church, the Baptist Church, the Big Sister Movement, the Catholic Church and the Churches of Christ. The Association of Voluntary Geriatric Agencies (NSW) was created to develop an industrial award covering conditions of employment and rates of pay for workers in aged care services. Despite registering federally in 1991 the Association changed names to the Aged Services Association of NSW & ACT Inc.
The Association remains registered with the NSW Industrial Registrar as the Aged Services Association Industrial (NSW) and with the Federal Industrial Registrar as the Aged Services Association of NSW & ACT.
