Summary
In February, New South Wales Miners are locked out after refusing to accept a reduction in wage-rates. The New South Wales Government attempts to re-open the mine in December with non-union labour, prompting a conflict between
police and demonstrating miners at Rothbury. The stand-off lasts fifteen months, when the onset of the Depression and the exhaustion of the miners' funds forces them back to work on the owner's terms.
