Function: Trade Union (Federal)
Registered as a federal union in 1909, the Marine Stewards' and Pantrymen's Association remained a small but independent union, which, like other sea-going unions, was active in the promotion of the Australian maritime industry. In 1988 it amalgamated with the Seamen's Union of Australia, which ultimately became part of the Maritime Union of Australia, following an amalgamation with the Waterside Workers’ Federation of Australia in 1993.
