Born: 18 April 1889  Mt Hope, New South Wales
George Buckland was Secretary of the Central Branch of the Australian Workers' Union [AWU] from 1921-33 and an Industrial Officer for the same union until 1947 when he was appointed Commonwealth Conciliation Commissioner.
