Eastern Goldfields Amalgamated Tailors & Tailoresses Society (1906 - 1951)

Archival/Heritage Sources
Function: Trade Union (State or Territory only)
Location: Western Australia
The Eastern Goldfields Amalgamated Tailors' & Tailoresses' Society was formed in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia in 1906 as a result of an amalgamation between the the local Tailors' and Tailoresses' Societies (which was itself established only seven years earlier, in 1899). The Amalgamated Society was at its peak strength of 119 just a year after its formation, after which, however, membership steadily declined until 1951, when it was disbanded.
