Trade Union entry Australian Hairdressers Wigmakers & Hairworkers Employees Federation (1911 - 1991)

Summary

The Australian Hairdressers Wigmakers & Hairworkers Employees' Federation was organised in Victoria before 1890 to campaign for an eight-hour day. However, it was not registered with the Conciliation and Arbitration Court until the 1st of June 1911. The Union amalgamated with the Mannequins' & Models' Guild of Australia and the Shop Distributive & Allied Employees' Association in 1991 to form a new Shop Distributive & Allied Employees' Association.
