Summary
Formed in 1919 and registered under the federal Arbitration & Conciliation Act, the Australian Woolgrowers' Council operated until it merged with the Graziers' Federal Council of Australia to form the Australian Woolgrowers' & Graziers' Council [AWGC].
In 1979 the AWGC merged with the Australian Wool and Meat Producers' Federation [AWMPF], the Australian Wheat Growers' Federation [AWF], the Australian National Cattlemen's Council [ANCC], the Cattlemen's Union of Australia, the Australian Seed Producers' Federation, the Australian Vegetable Growers Association, and the Australian Farmers' Federation to form the National Farmers Federation [NFF]. The inaugural meeting of the NFF was held on 20 Jul 1979.
