Summary
The Barrier Industrial Council was formed between 1993 and 1994 to coordinate union activity previously conducted by the Workers' Industrial Union of Australia (miners) and the other unions affiliated with the Trades and Labor Council. It became the most powerful single body in Broken Hill.
