Summary
The Friendly Society of Operative Stonemasons' of New South Wales was originally known as the United Operative Masons.
The United Operative Masons was formed in 1853. It was later known as the Friendly Society of Operative Stonemasons' of New South Wales and then as the Operative Stonemasons' Society of New South Wales. The Society joined the federated body of Stonemasons in 1889, and became the New South Wales Branch of the Operative Stonemasons' Society of Australia on the formation of that body in 1918.
