Summary

A Salaried Officers' Association was formed in 1916 by employees of the Metropolitan Board of Water Supply & Sewerage. In 1919 the Association became the Salaried Division of the Metropolitan Board of Water Supply & Sewerage Employees' Association and was registered as a separate union under the New South Wales Trade Union Act. The Division represents salaried employees of the Metropolitan Water, Sewerage and Drainage Board and is divided into clerical, general and professional sub-divisions. On the 1st of June 1984 the Division became part of the Municipal Officers' Association [MOA] New South Wales Branch in a merger involving three unions, the Water Sub-branch, Maritime Sub-branch and the Energy Sub-branch.
