| The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia [APESMA] is the largest national non-profit organisation representing professional employees. APESMA represents engineers, architects, veterinarians, scientists, IT professionals, surveyors, managers and pharmacists. APESMA dates back to the formation of the PMG's Department (State) Heads of Branches Association in 1921 which became the Postmaster General's Department Heads of Divisions & Branches Association in 1955. In 1976 this union changed names again to the Australian Postal & Telecommunications Commissions Heads of Departments Divisions & Branches Association. In 1994, the Senior Managers' Association (Postal & Telecommunications Commissions), the Australian Broadcasting Commission Senior Officers' Association and the Association of Professional Engineers & Scientists, Australia merged to form the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists & Managers, Australia. A further amalgamation with the Australian Colleries Staff Association took effect from 3 December 2001. See "online sources" for a pedigree chart of this entity. |
