| The Public Sector Professional Technical Communications Aviation & Broadcasting Union [PSPTCA & BU] was formed in 1992 following the merger between the Professional Radio & Electronics Institute of Australasia and the Australian Public Sector Professional & Broadcasting Union, Australian Government Employment. Incorporting many diverse threads such as those initially known as the Australian Commonwealth Public Service Clerical Association, the Federated Public Service Assistants' Association of Australia, the Radio Telegraphists (Marine) Institute, the Commonwealth Legal Professional Officers' Association, the Professional Officers' Association, Commonwealth Public Service and the Meat Inspectors' Association, Commonwwealth Public Service, all registered shortly after the turn of the twentieth century, the PSPTCA & BU operated until just 1993 when it was renamed the Public Sector Professional Scientific Research Technical Communications Aviation & Broadcasting Union after the merger with the CSIRO Staff Association. By 1994, the Union was known simply as the CPSU, the Community & Public Sector Union. See "online sources" for a pedigree chart of this entity. |
